Description

The heat-treated landing shoulder is a ring positioned between the upper and lower latch bodies, establishing contact with the landing ring in the outer tube assembly. This contact, or “landing,” serves to restrict the movement of the inner tube assembly within the outer tube assembly. By acting as a barrier, it directs the drilling fluids to pass through the water ports on both the upper and lower latch bodies, generating the pressure signal as previously described.
