Swan Low Heat Cement (Type LH)
Swan Cement offers Low Heat Cement, Type LH, conforming to Australian Standard AS 3972. Manufactured to exacting standards in Western Australia, this blended cement is designed for use in both the construction industry and domestic applications.
Supply Information:
Low Heat Cement is available in 20 kg multi-walled paper bags. The bags are palletized and stretch-wrapped for easy handling.
Specifications:
Our Low Heat Cement exceeds the minimum specifications for Types LH, SR, and GB cement outlined in AS 3972. It is produced under a third-party certified quality assurance system compliant with ISO 9001 (BSI Certification No. FS 604665). The cement is carefully blended with Type GP cement and ground granulated blast furnace slag, adhering to AS 3582.2.
Applications:
Ideal for mass-fill structural pours, Low Heat Cement effectively controls the internal temperature rise (heat of hydration) to minimize the risk of thermal cracking. It also exceeds the requirements for Type SR cement, making it suitable for use in concretes and mortars exposed to sulfate-bearing waters and soils. This includes applications in marine environments, sewage treatment facilities, and areas with naturally occurring or industrially contaminated sulfates.
The risk of sulfate attack in concrete occurs due to the reaction between free sulfates and cementitious alumina-bearing compounds, forming expansive crystalline minerals. This crystal growth leads to internal stresses and can compromise the structural integrity of the concrete over time.
Choose Swan Low Heat Cement for a reliable, high-performance solution that meets your construction needs while ensuring durability and longevity.
